Skoobebooks provides authors with a publishing service and online bookstore to sell their books from. Unlike other Publishing and Printing companies, we make it simple for an author to upload their book to the online bookstore and make it available for purchase as a bound copy. We do not take editorial control of your book. Providing it is legal under UK law we will allow it to be added to the store. If it is poorly written it probably won’t sell so it is up to the author to ensure they are happy with their publication. We use print on demand (POD) technology to produce the books so they are printed as they are ordered and delivered directly to the customer. This means that no stock holding is required, leading to less costs and a smaller environmental impact. We encourage all our customers of the book store to use Social Networking sites and our Forum to discuss the books. So rather than an editor deciding a book is good or bad, the readers themselves rate the books. So if a book gets a lot of good comments across the social networking sites then volume sales will probably follow. We believe in the author having a good financial return on their work and not having them tied into lengthy contracts. Authors can sell their books through as many channels as they wish. We do not restrict them to only using the Skoobebooks online store. Authors set the price for their books and sales from the online store are tracked in your MySkoobe account. Every quarter (starting 1st February) we pay the author the sales proceeds due on the sales achieved. They say “there is a book in everyone”.
